  POLICE CLEARANCE CERTIFICATES (PCC)
    This is a document issued by the High Commission certifying that the applicant has never been involved with the Indian police, and is normally required when you apply for emigration status to countries such as Australia, USA, Canada etc.

The normal procedure for issuing a PCC is that the High Commission checks with the police authorities in the area(s) in India where you had been residing, and issues the PCC after obtaining their clearance.
Following documents are required:

  Personal Particulars Form in Duplicate (two sets) duly filled in.
     
  Four passport size photographs
     
  Fee A$ 20.00 in favour of "High Commission of India, Canberra" by cash or bank draft or money
    order. NO PERSONAL CHEQUES WOULD BE ACCEPTED
    Cash/Personal cheques or credit cards are NOT accepted . Cash accepted at Counter only.

  EMIGRATION CLEARANCE NOT REQUIRED (ECNR) ENDORSEMENT
   

Persons in the following categories are eligible for ECNR:

  Persons going abroad in managerial capacity in Hotels/Restaurants, Tea-Houses or other places of
    public Resorts etc. possessing specialized Degrees in the fields
     
  Persons holding professional degrees, such as Doctors holding M.B.B.S Degree in Ayurved or
    Homoeopathy, accredited Journalists, Engineers, Chartered Accountants
     
  Persons staying abroad for more than 3 years
     
  Spouses of the above mentioned categories
     
  Persons holding graduation or higher degrees
     
  Persons holding Senior Secondary Certificate & above
     
  Seamen in possession of Continues Discharge Certificate and Sea Cadets and Deck Cadets
   
  • Who have passed final examination of three years B.SC. Nautical Sciences Courses at T.S Chanakya, Mumbai, or
   
  • Who have undergone three months Pre-Sea training at any of the Government approved Training Institutes after production of Identity Cards issued by the shipping Master, Mumbai/Calcutta/Chennai
     
  Persons holding permanent Immigration Visas or any country e.g. Green card in USA
     
  Nurses possessing qualifications recognized under the Indian Nursing Council Act, 1947
     
  Dependent children of parents eligible for ECNR, as above (up to 24 years of age)
     
  All persons above the age of 60 years.
     
  All visitors to Pakistan and Bangladesh
     
    All visitors going to any country in Europe (except the Commonwealth of Independent States) or North America, Australia, Japan and New Zealand

  Proof in support of claim of eligibility.

    attorney, mortgage, transfer, gift etc. of real estate or movable properties including any other

  LIFE CERTIFICATES
   

All retired persons drawing an Indian pension living in Australia have to produce a Life Certificate each year to enable them to draw pension in India. This Certificate has to be Attested by Indian Consular Official.

  Emergency Certificate
   

Emergency Certificate is a one-way travel-one-time document, which is issued to Indian nationals who do not hold valid Indian passports and need to travel back to India. It is usually issued to persons detained by Australian authorities and who are to be deported back to India.

Following documents are required:

  Duly completed and signed application form (same form as for a new passport)
     
  Five recent passport-size photographs.
     
  A copy of previous Indian passport, wherever possible.
     
  Proof of Indian nationality (verifiable)
     
  Proof and details of confirmed air travel bookings for journey back to India
     
  Fee A$ 10.00 in favour of the concerned office “High Commission of India, Canberra / Consulate
    General of India, Sydney / Consulate General of India, Melbourne” as the case may be in the form of
    bank cheque or money order.

  Attestation of Death Certificate and No Objection Certificate :
   

For transportation of human remains (body of the deceased) following is required:

Following documents are required:

  Passport of the deceased (for cancellation)
     
  Notarised copy of the Death Certificate; Embalmer's Certificate (Funeral Parlour Certificate
    stating that the body has been embalmed in accordance with the international health and shipping
    requirements and that the body has been placed in a hermetically sealed container with zinc liner
    and wooden outer container) duly notarised;
     
  No Communicable Disease's certificate from the Department of Health stating that the
    deceased did not suffer from any communicable/contagious diseases;
     
  Itinerary/Flight details ;
     
  Details of person/s accompanying including a copy of their passport.
