Agreements/MoUs signed between India and Thailand during the State visit of H.E. General Surayud Chulanont (Ret.), Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand ( 25-27 June 2007)

(1) MoU on Enhanced Cooperation in the field of Renewable Energy signed by Shri Vilas Muttemwar, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy of the Government of India and Mr. Piyasvasti Amranand, Minister of Energy of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand. The MoU envisages “cooperation through joint research and development, information networking and exchange of information in the areas of photo-voltaic cells, solar-thermal energy, bio-gas, bio-mass, small hydro, wind energy and any other technological application. Demonstration, promotion and commercialization of the cited technologies would be pursued on the basis of equality and joint benefit as mutually agreed upon by the parties. A ‘Programme of Cooperation’ would be worked out to provide a systematic and organized outline of activities. Activities envisaged include the exchange of delegations, training cooperation and technical consultation. Research results determined by the parties as non patentable could be freely utilized by either party”.

(2) Executive Programme of Cultural Exchange for 2007-09 : signed by Shri Badal K. Das, Secretary, Department of Culture, Ministry of Culture of the Government of India and Mrs. Cholchineepan Chiranond, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand. The Executive Programme of Cultural exchange for 2007-09 between India and Thailand “envisages exchanges of exhibitions, cultural troupes, artists, writers, cooperation in research projects and in the conservation of monuments and the organization of seminars. A Cultural Agreement between India and Thailand was signed in April 1977”.
